Kin On Soccer Rules

2009 Kin On Soccer Tournament

July 18th – 19th, 2009

 

Rules and Regulations

  1. There are seven teams in the tournament.  They will be split into group A and group B on the first day and play a round robin format, or semi round robin for the 4 team group.  Each team will play two games using the point system listed below.  Top two teams from each group will advance to a Tournament Group playoff on the second day.  Trophies will be awarded to the top two teams of this playoff group with the first place team declared as winner of the 2009 Kin On Soccer Tournament.  The remaining three teams not in this playoff group will play a round robin format in a Consolation Group competition on the second day. Trophy will be awarded to the first place team of this group.

 

  1. Points for game

Win             6 points

Shoot Out Win    4 points (no extra points for shoot out goals)

Shoot Out Loss   2 points (no extra points for shoot out goals)

Shut Out    1 point (0-0 draw does not count as shut out)

Goal             1 point per goal, maximum to 2 points

Maximum points per game – 9 points

 

Total Point Tie breaker is determined in the following order:

a.            Head to head game

b.           Total goals for

c.            Total goals against

d.           Luck of draw        

 

  1. For the four team group, the winners will play against the losers of the two matches for the second game.

 

  1. If the game ends in a tie, the game will be decided by shoot out.

 

  1. Shoot Out Rule: 5 penalty shots – NO rebounds.  If still tied after 5 shots, sudden death penalty shot.

 

  1. Games:  a. 2 x 30 minute halves with a 10 minute intermission.

b. Stoppage time, only if serious injury – Referee’s decision

 

  1. Team managers must register their maximum 25 players in advance before the tournament.  You may update your final roster at the Tournament Committee Desk prior to the start of your first game.

 

  1. Teams are required to be ready at the scheduled time of the match, a minimum of 7 players are required to be on the field.  A forfeit is considered to be a game loss of  0 – 1 (no shut out point is awarded to the winning team but 1 goal point is counted, i.e. the winning team is awarded 7 points).

 

  1. Any fraud of game, i.e. by using non-registered players, will result as a forfeit game loss of  0 -1, similar to item 8.

 

  1. Teams are recommended to have 2 sets of jerseys.  In case of a color conflict, one of the teams will change to a contrasting color, or a method deemed appropriate by the referees.

 

  1. A red card means a minimum one game suspension, the referees has the authority to suspend a player from the rest of the tournament.

 

  1. Unlimited substitutions with referee’s consent.

 

  1. No sliding tackle is allowed.  First violation gets a yellow, repeated violation will result with a red card and be sent off from the field.

 

  1. No metal cleats are allowed.  Shin guards are optional but highly recommended.

 

  1. Any protests must be raised and reported to the Tournament Committee within 10 minutes after the game.  The committee will investigate the case and will make a decision. Otherwise all results reported by the referees will be considered final.

 

  1. A “ZERO TOLERANCE” policy of alcohol will be enforced in the park.  Thank you in advance for your co-operation with this matter.
